The Mary DeRosa Charity: A 501(C)(3) organization
One of our primary objectives at the Mary DeRosa Charity is to provide financial grants to mothers battling metastatic breast cancer who are still caring for young families at home. This mission is deeply personal to us because it reflects Mary’s journey and our own family’s experience.
Our grants are designed to give families a chance to step away from the appointments, chemotherapy treatments and doctor visits and spend meaningful time together. Our last family vacation with Mary became one of our most cherished memories, and we want to help create those same kinds of moments for other families. Whether it is a weekend getaway, a few special meals or a meaningful family project, our goal is to help create memories that families can hold onto forever.
We work closely with cancer center oncology social workers to identify mothers and families who may benefit from this support. Your help in supporting this mission is warmly appreciated.

The Mary DeRosa Charity NFP
Mary DeRosa was a devoted wife and the loving mother of three teenage children. She had a remarkable zest for friendship, empathy and connection, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and cared for. Mary was often the warmest soul in the room.
Her children, fortunately, received and embraced all that was good about their mother and, along with her husband, are determined to follow in Mary’s ability to do good by offering kindness, hope, and answers to those directly and indirectly affected by cancer.

Objectives
Financially support cancer research, studies, projects and other initiatives that advance the treatments and cure of Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
A top priority is to provide grants to mothers battling metastatic breast cancer who are caring for young families at home. Working with oncology social workers, we identify families who can benefit from an opportunity to step away from treatments, appointments and the daily realities of cancer and spend meaningful time together. These grants may help create a weekend getaway, special family meals or a meaningful family project.
We also proudly support Northwestern Medicine Living Well Cancer Resources, which provides free counseling, wellness, nutrition, exercise and other supportive programs for individuals and families impacted by cancer.
Provide News and Information about Breast Cancer treatments, research regarding advancements, events and options for those individuals and families affected by the disease.
About Mary
Mary had a special method of making everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the world, and she was there to listen, guide, understand, and love.
Mary was authentic, good, and kind. She was sadly taken from us much too early, at the age of fifty-four. She died of Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer which has few treatment options.
The 5th Annual Mary DeRosa Charity Golf Outing
The 5th Annual Mary DeRosa Charity Golf Outing will be held on Thursday, July 15th, 2027, at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton, IL. The day will kick-off at 8:00 AM with Registration and Range, followed by the putting contest and then a shotgun golf start at 9:45 am. Ticket Price includes: Range, 18 Holesa of Golf, boxed lunch, 2 drink tickets, and dinner with a cash bar. This will be a scramble with fun contests and prizes.
For those who don’t golf, dinner and a cash bar will be provided after the round (3:30 PM) in the grand ballroom. Additional raffles will be available for all who are interested.
